Founded over 30 years ago and now in their third generation of family leadership, Barrel Associates sets the standard for excellence in the cooperage industry. Trusted by prestigious wineries worldwide, they are renowned for consistently crafting barrels of unparalleled quality.
Unique production methods — Fire Bent, Water Bent and Deep Toast — offer winemakers distinct flavour profiles and textures to suit every style of winemaking.🍷 These premium barrels are now available in South Africa exclusively through BARRIQUE SA.
Barrel Associates is sourcing wood from two distinct regions, each contributing a unique flavor profile to the finished wine:
• Southern Missouri / Northern Arkansas – Known for spice-driven notes, this oak imparts flavours of dark chocolate, cinnamon, toasted walnut and walnut.
• Great Lakes (Minnesota / Wisconsin) – Grown in granite-rich soils, this oak is considered more lively, offering sweeter, confectionary notes such as crème brûlée, almond roca and toasted marshmallow.
